What is a zine?
A zine is a compilation of derivative works, formatted in the style of a book or magazine.Is this zine for the TV show or the novel?
This zine will be based around the Word of Honor drama, and not the novel Faraway WanderersIs the zine SFW? What is it rated?
The zine will be SFW and rated mature in the same fashion as Word of Honor. Works may include violent, sensual, or otherwise mature themes but nothing beyond the level of the live-action show. We will be creating an accompanying half letter size NSFW mini-zine with fics and art.What is the theme of the zine?
The zine will be split into six sections. Each section will focus on one kind of flower that is featured in Word of Honor: azaleas, phoenix flowers, orange osmanthus, plum blossoms, spider lilies, and crysanthemums. Each section will feature an original poem by one of our selected poets.What ships can I expect to see in this zine?
We are generally focused on WenZhou and CaoXiang, although additional ships may be included at the discretion of the organizers. That said, this isn't a ship zine, so expect to see a range of characters and relationships (both romantic and otherwise) featured.Will the zine be physical or digital?
It will be physical and digital with accompanying physical merch. The main volume will be 7x7” and the merch items will be: charms, prints, sticker sheets, die-cut stickers, standee, an enamel pin and letter writing set, should our budget allow.Will the zine be for-profit?
The zine will be for-charity. Contributors will vote on a short-list of charities.Can I apply as both artist and writer?
Yes, please apply separately. Applications for each position are reviewed separately.Is traditional art acceptable?
Yes, please scan in 300 dpi resolution or higher.Will mods be participating?
Mods who are interested in participating will undergo the same portfolio review as the contributors, and will not take up contributor slots.What is the main mode of contact?
All applicants will receive an email to inform them of the outcome of their application. All accepted contributors will be required to join the Discord server for announcements.How will contributors be compensated?
All contributors are guaranteed to receive a digital PDF of the zine. Any further compensation e.g. full physical bundle depends on sales.
